Research from Hu and her colleagues at the Guangzhou Sports University in China has shown that NMN can substantially enhance athletes' functions. This study was set up to investigate whether middle-aged athletes and healthy athletes could experience similar benefits from NMN. During this research, runners were supplemented daily with 300, 600, or 1200 mg of NMN powder for six weeks.

The participants of this study trained five to six times a week, for 40 to 60 minutes per day. After the training sessions, the participants underwent lung and heart exercise tests. The results showed that NMN supplements, particularly at doses of 600 and 1200 mg per day, significantly improved endurance. The body's ability to absorb oxygen and deliver it to the tissues was significantly improved.

Based on this research, it can be concluded that NMN supplementation can make a valuable contribution to improving endurance during exercise in athletes.
